About This Exam

The CRPF HCM English Typing Test is conducted to evaluate the practical typing skills of candidates applying for the post of Head Constable (Ministerial). Since the role involves preparing official correspondence, maintaining office records, data entry, and administrative documentation, candidates are expected to demonstrate efficient computer typing skills.

The skill test is conducted only for candidates who qualify the earlier stages of recruitment. It is designed to ensure that selected candidates can perform office-related work efficiently in a real working environment. Typing Test Pattern

The English typing test is conducted on a computer provided by the recruitment centre. Candidates are required to type the given English passage within the prescribed time while maintaining both speed and accuracy.

The software evaluates typing performance by checking typing speed, spelling mistakes, omitted words, repeated words, punctuation errors, and formatting accuracy. Errors beyond the permissible limit reduce the effective typing speed, making accuracy just as important as speed. Speed Requirement

Candidates opting for English must achieve a minimum typing speed of 35 Words Per Minute (WPM) on a computer, equivalent to 10,500 key depressions per hour (KDPH). The skill test is conducted only on computers provided by the recruitment centre and is qualifying in nature.
